The Only Turkey Burger Recipe You Need

My family loves a good burger, and we wanted to swap out the traditional beef patty with a tasty alternative. Enter this delicious turkey burger recipe! Both ground beef and ground turkey are great sources of protein, which is key for maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle. Protein helps you feel full and satiated, and is essential for building lean muscle mass. Turkey is lower in saturated fat compared to ground beef, which can be helpful for certain health concerns. However, most turkey burger recipes I tried in the past were dry and flavorless. But not this recipe!

I stumbled upon a recipe from the Healthy Recipes Blog, made a few slight modification as written below, and….WOW! This is hands down the best turkey burger recipe I have ever tried. I promise you will not be disappointed!

You start by mixing the ground turkey with mayonnaise, mustard, and some spices. The mixture will be VERY moist and sticky, but don’t worry. The mayonnaise and mustard provide extra moisture for the lean turkey, while also imparting a subtle savory flavor.

Next form 4 patties. You might need to wet your hands to help with this step.

Heat the oil in a large skillet and sauté the patties until cooked through, flipping once. Given the thickness of the patties, it usually takes about 10 minutes per side. Also, it’s important to sauté the patties in oil, rather than cook them on the grill. Grilling the turkey burger can cause it to dry out, while the oil in the skillet will help the burger stay moist and tender.

After cooking the burgers, assemble with any desired toppings. My kids are partial to banana peppers and ketchup! Pictured below is a simple combination of blue cheese and bbq sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 1.25 lbs Ground Turkey (93% lean)
  • 1 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp Avocado Oil

Instructions
 

  • Mix together ground turkey, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Form into 4 patties. Mixture will be very moist and sticky.
  • Heat oil in large skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook patties in skillet until golden brown and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes per side.
  • Enjoy with desired toppings!
